US steel production maintains 5% growth

Bolstered by its largest year-to-date week ofproduction, overall United States crude steelproduction through 17 November is up 5.5% yearon year.January-mid-November output is estimatedat 83.7 m short tons (st) at a capacity utilisationrate of 78.0%, according to the American Ironand Steel Institute (AISI). That compares to the79.4 mst seen in the same timeframe of 2017.
