EU to ban greenwashing by adding unverified environmental claims to banned list of UTPs

The European Commission has proposed an EU ban on greenwashing - fake or exaggerated environmental claims – that would apply to food and drink as much as any other products, by amending the unfair commercial practices directive (UCPD) to add greenwashing to a list of outlawed unfair trading practices (UTPs) laid down in an annex.
