Price forecast

The decrease in global flats prices accelerated in H2 2018. Next year, the flat steel market willbe under a threat of trade restrictions and redirection of export-import commodity flows betweenthe countries. In H2 2019, the decrease in flats prices will accelerate amid growing risks ofrecession in the developed countries, USA in particular. Meanwhile, stronger US dollar will beexerting pressure on the developing markets. While domestic demand in China stays strong,flats prices will be quite steady within the range achieved this year. At the same time, redirectionof commodity flows adds much to uncertainty in the markets and may urge local price hikes.
