Ukrainian coke market

Spare volumes of the material in the domestic market will decrease along with rising in-house consumption at DMZ (until May 2020 its coking plant had shipped the material only to the free market due to the BF outage). Coke production in the country cannot be raised substantially because of obsolete capacities and dependence on coking coal imports. So Ukraine will have to import the material. In the circumstances, producers continue cutting coke consumption. For this purpose, Azovstal plans to connect a PCI unit to BF No.6. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has similar plans after the revamp at BF No.9.
