Scrap shortage may deepen in some federal districts this year in view of theanticipated upturn in steel production coupled with limited resources of easy-togetobsolete scrap. However, demand-supply balance will not be greatly disturbedin 2013 because a lot of mini-mills projects have been postponed. Besides, scrapconsumption will be lower due to a decrease in steel production at the existingfacilities.
