Shougang Hierro Peru's Iron Ore Production in Nov Stands at 1.186 Mt

According to data released on 5th by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of Peru (NINEM), the country's iron ore production output in November 2020 stood at 1.186 million tonnes (Mt), up by 78 Kt (7.0%) year-on-year (y/y) from 1.108 Mt. The monthly output exceeded the major 1-Mt mark for four straight months, with an y/y increase in each of them. Peru's iron ore production fell to zero in April and May due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic; however, the production activity resumed in June with small output. The monthly production volumes quickly recovered afterwards, reaching 1 Mt in August and hitting a new record in November. At the current pace, the annual production will likely reach 14 Mtpa.
