Kanto Scrap Market, Y 500-1,000 Price Reduction Spreads Again from Mar. 26

The Kanto ferrous scrap market price is further declining again starting March 26. After Tokyo Steel lowered its purchasing prices by Y 500 at Utsunomiya Plant, Itoh Iron & Steel Tsukuba plant and JFE Bars & Shapes Kashima Works lowered their prices by Y 1,000. Other electric furnace steelmakers, excluding steelmakers that purchase scraps for only a fixed period, decided to follow suit and lowered their prices by Y 500. Sanko Seiko lowered this week’s purchasing prices by Y 1,500 and revised the delivery price for H2 down to Y 38,000 at maximum.
