Strike at Coal Mine Owned by Warrior Met Coal Becomes Mired

The strike at the coal mine owned by Warrior Met Coal Inc., a major metallurgical coal producer in the U.S. has become mired. The coal mine workers of Warrior Met Coal went on strike on April 1 as a result of the fact that the negotiation on the new collective agreement which was going on between the Company’ top management and the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) did not come to an agreement by March 31. The number of the workers who continue the strike is about 1,100. In view of this, the strike at the coal mine owned by Warrior Met Coal has already continued for as much as more than 100 days. Multiple violent incidents have occurred these days between the workers and the company, which makes it being not yet in sight at all when the strike will come to an end.
