Shareholders of Anglo American Approve Demerger of Coal Business in South Africa

On May 6 local time, Anglo American plc, UK made it clear that the shareholders of the Company approved the demerger of its thermal coal business in South Africa. Accordingly, Anglo American will assign all the coal assets in South Africa owned by the Company to Thungela Resources Limited at the beginning of June. Thungela Resources will become a holding company of Anglo American and the shares in Thungela Resources will be distributed to the shareholders of Anglo American according to the shareholding ratio. Thungela Resources is scheduled to be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in South Africa and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in UK on June 7.
