S. Korea’s Hanul Nuclear Units 1 and 2 Resume Operation

Nuclear units 1 and 2 at the Hanul power plant on the east side of South Korea have resumed operation.The two units were automatically stopped due to the inflow of marine organisms at 2:06 on March 22. Circulatingwater pumps have been all stopped, and responding to this the turbine of Unit 1 and the reactor of Unit 2 have beenautomatically stopped, and recovery work had been conducted since then.According to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Company (KHNP), Unit 1 returned to operation on March 29 andUnit 2 on March 30.
