Hanul Unit 5 Starts Maintenance, Three Nuclear Units Resume Operation

South Korea’s Hanul nuclear power plant Unit 5 (capacity: 1,000 MW) entered the maintenance phase on May 10. The maintenance work will continue about one and a half months and is scheduled to end on June 25. According to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Company (KHNP), three nuclear power units in South Korea resumed operation between end-April through May 10. Kori Unit 2 (650 MW), which was believed to be automatically stopped on April 23 when a crane reached a transmission line, was resumed on April 30.
