EU carbon prices rebound after falling below Eur40.00/mt in week to March 26

London—EU carbon allowances fell sharply in the week ending March 26, with prices coming under pressure from weakening oil markets, although values rebounded at the end of the week as the lower prices attracted buyers. EU Allowance futures contracts for December 2021 delivery on the ICE Futures Europe exchange fell as low as Eur39.63/mt intra-day March 25, before edging back above Eur41.00/mt March 26. That compares with an all-time closing high of Eur42.99/mt on March 17.
