Czech minister sets out conditions for Poland’s Turow lignite mine expansion

Czech foreign minister Tomas Petricek has set out his country’s conditions for dropping an official complaint to the European Court of Justice against Polish plans to expand the Turow lignite mine, the ministry said Feb. 12. Plans by Poland’s PGE plans to expand the mine, on the northern Czech-Polish border, and extract an extra 286 million metric tonnes of brown coal to 2044.
