Equinor finds more oil near Norway's North Sea Snorre, Visund fields

Equinor and its partners have made a new oil discovery in Norway's North Sea expected to add production volumes to the country's producing Snorre field, the partners said June 14. A discovery well on Garantiana West prospect hit a total oil column of 86 meters, which is estimated to hold recoverable resources of between 8 million-23 million barrels of oil equivalent, the companies said. Drilled in water depths of 385 meters, the well was targeting a prospect west of the 2012 Garantiana discovery. It is located 30 km east of the Snorre field and 20km north of the Visund field.
