NYMEX refined product futures fall as RIN selloff extends

US refined product futures settled lower June 14 as the value of Renewable Identification Numbers continued to decline following reports June 11 that the White House may extend relief to refiners from biofuel blending mandates. NYMEX July RBOB settled down 1.49 cents at $2.1712/gal and July ULSD declined 91 points to $2.1116/gal. Weakness in RINS, which the US Environmental Protection Agency issues to track renewable fuel usage throughout the supply chain, extended June 14, dragging refined product futures lower and weighing on crack spreads.
