Cerulean Winds sets out North Sea decarbonization scheme for floating wind turbines

New UK infrastructure company Cerulean Winds unveiled June 1 a GBP10 billion ($14 billion) scheme for 200 floating wind turbines with 3 GW of capacity to meet the power needs of North Sea and West of Shetland oil and gas installations. The project is one of a number under consideration to curb the emissions of the UK oil and gas industry, which produces around 1 million b/d of oil, including the Brent and Forties benchmark crude blends, as well as covering about half the UK’s gas needs.
