Low-carbon P1020 aluminum in Europe continued to be assessed at the same level as “standard” aluminum, a source said the week ended May 27, as customers were still reportedly unwilling to pay extra on an already high Rotterdam premium. A P1020 buyer said he would be willing to pay for low-carbon primary aluminum, once he was able to pass on the cost to his customers. He added that his clients needed more education on the value low-carbon aluminum could provide to them.
