Gidara Energy Building Amsterdam Plant To Convert Waste into Green Methanol

Amsterdam— Gidara Energy is setting up its first advanced biofuels facility, Advanced Methanol Amsterdam (AMA), in the Port of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to convert non-recyclable waste into advanced methanol. The AMA plant will produce around 260 t/d of renewable methanol using Gidara's HTW biomass gasification technology, originally developed by RWE and Thyssenkrupp. The methanol will replace fossil-based fuels, creating "significant" carbon savings, Gidara noted. A schedule for the project was not disclosed.
