IOCL Awards Contract to Maire Tecnimont To Build New Paraxylene Plant in Paradip

Paradip-A consortium of Tecnimont SpA and Tecnimont Private Ltd., subsidiaries of Maire Tecnimont SpA, have received a contract from Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) to set up a new paraxylene unit and relevant offsite facilities in Paradip, Odisha, India (PCN, 10 Aug 2020, p 1). The project will involve construction of a new 800,000-t/y paraxylene plant, which will feed an adjacent 1.2-million-t/y purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit. Both facilities are expected to be complete by early 2024.
