London—Russian steelmaker MMK expects higher profitability in the April-June quarter on expectations of higher steel prices with the start of the construction season in Russia, having more valueadded products in its portfolio and continued tight supply in key steel markets, the company said April 14. Urals-based MMK, which also owns an electric arc furnace and coil mills in Turkey, said prices so far this quarter have been supported by the start of the construction season in Russia and positive pricing in the global market amid continued short supply in major steel consuming regions.
