Singapore—Asian metallurgical coal prices were unchanged March 3 as market participants in both China and ex-China markets were in no hurry to purchase despite several offers reported in the spot market. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol unchanged at $125.25/mt FOB Australia, and flat at $221/mt CFR China March 3. In China, several offers were issued to end-users but appeared to have failed to lure any buy interests March 3. Limited non-Australian cargo availability and rising freight rates have led to higher offers, sell-side sources said, leaving end-users with limited room for price negotiations.
