摘要

London—Investors have become more cautious on the mining sector because of a slowing in Chinese credit growth, which could have a knock-on impact on metals markets, according to analysts at Jefferies Equity Research. “We sense a shift in sentiment,” analysts Christopher LaFemina and Patricia Hove said in a report this week. “The key reasons for this more cautious view include the risk of Chinese demand slowing, the Chinese government talking down commodity prices, ongoing COVID issues, recent strength in the US$, and the fact that most commodity prices have already strongly recovered from 2020 lows,” the analysts said. “A midyear soft patch is possible.”
