CMC, Byer Steel raise some rebar prices

Houston—Commercial Metals Co. said it would raise prices for #3 reinforcing bar from its East region mills in Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and New Jersey by $20/st, while Byer Steel said it would also be increasing its A996 rebar by $50/st, according to the letters sent to customers on March 5 and seen by S&P Global Platts. The increases, which were to take effect immediately, account for the fifth round of price increases after the last round took place in early January when CMC, Nucor, Steel Dynamics Inc. and Gerdau raised rebar transaction prices by $50/st.
