Asia met coal PLV prices edge lower; low vol PCI up on tight supply

Singapore—Seaborne metallurgical coal PLV FOB prices continued their downtrend March 23 amid wide availability of Australian materials in the ex-China market, along with lower price indications and deals observed in the spot market. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol down 50 cents/mt to $111/mt FOB Australia, and CFR China down 50 cents/mt to $214.5/ mt March 23. The spot market saw transactions concluded late March 22 for premium coking coals as the current price levels drew buying interest from end-users.
