India's May crude steel output dips 1% on month to 9.2 mil mt

India's crude steel production in May declined 0.9% from April to 9.20 million mt as the country struggled with a more severe wave of COVID-19 infections, provisional data from the Joint Plant Committee showed June 21. The May production was 46.9% higher year on year as output fell in May 2020 amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
