US steel mill lead times move lower

US steel mill lead times for three of the four main flat-rolled product categories retreated slightly week on week, S&P Global Platts data showed June 23. US mills’ average hot-rolled coil lead time decreased 0.1 week, to 8.3 weeks, remaining above the historically rare eight-week average maintained since mid-October 2020. Amid limited supply options, some mills offered their August production at $1,750/st.
