Vietnam Hoa Phat's Jan crude steel output rises 67% on year to record 670,000 mt

Vietnam's Hoa Phat produced 670,000 mt of crude steel in January, up 67% year on year and a recordmonthly high for the company, the steelmaker said Feb. 5.Hoa Phat has brought a string of blast furnaces online at its Dung Quat steel complex since 2019. Thelatest addition saw its fourth Dung Quat blast furnace starting production Jan. 6, taking the complex’soverall crude steel output capacity to 4.8 million mt/year.
