Schlumberger Optimistic for 2021 Recovery

Oil-field services giant Schlumberger provided an optimistic outlook for a rebound in global upstream activity in 2021 and beyond, although it warned that the recovery in North America may be more gradual than in the international and offshore sectors. Schlumberger expects global oil demand to rebound to 2019 levels — prior to the disastrous impact of the Covid-19 pandemic — no later than 2023, reinforcing a “multiyear-cycle recovery” built on a stronger global economy.
