Massive solar and battery storage projects under way in Texas and Florida illustrate the slow but steady encroachment of renewables into gas'power generation space.Invenergy's Samson Solar Energy Center will be the largest solar facility in the US,spanning three counties in northeastern Texas near the Oklahoma border.Its 1,013 megawatts of electricity will eclipse that of the 690 MW Gemini project under construction outside Las Vegas,which had been the biggest to date.The $1.6 billion Samson project will supply power to three Texas municipalities and support the renewable energy goals of five major corporations.
