Shell Plans Clean Energy Center

Royal Dutch Shell has partnered with the governments of Canada and British Columbia on funding for a new clean-energy innovation center that aims to help advance decarbonization efforts in the country. Shell and the provincial government of BC have each committed C$35 million (US$27.4 million) to the BC Center for Innovation and Clean Energy, while Ottawa has committed up to C$35 million for the center's projects. The center's initial focus areas for funding will include carbon capture and storage; low-carbon hydrogen; biofuels; renewable natural gas; and battery technology.
