BP Takes FERC to Court

BP is suing the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission(FERC)in a long-running case in which the producer is accused of manipulating the natural gas market in 2008. BP's complaint last week in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals seeks to overturn FERC enforcement staff's 2016 finding-upheld again last December-that its BP America division manipulated the daily gas price at the Houston Ship Channel to take advantage of market upheaval following Hurricane Ike.
