ASIA HRC: Prices spike upward on stable demand, limited supply

Import prices for hot-rolled coil into Vietnam spiked upward in the week to Thursday April 1 amid stable demand and high offers by sellers, key market participants said. Three major Indian steel mills are offering cargoes at $850-860 per tonne cfr Vietnam, with traders offering cargoes at $845 per tonne cfr Vietnam. Buyers have no choice but to accept the higher prices amid a lack of supply from China.
