South Korea has ramped up domestic initiatives to develop green ammonia production through the creation of a six-member consortium that aims to establish a value chain for the supply, maritime transportation and storage of green ammonia, Aju Business Daily reports. The consortium members have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for both transportation and bunkering, using Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) to develop ammonia propulsion ships. Certification will be provided by classification society, Korean Register (KR).
