China: 2020 potash imports down 3%

China’s full-year 2020 imports of MOP decreased 3% from 2019 to 8.85 Mt, according to updated trade data via IHS Markit. The December figure was down 2% year on year at 564,405 t. Canada remained the largest supplier to China in 2020, with the volume rising 9% year on year to 3.61 Mt. Canada’s market share for sales to China increased to 41% in 2020 from 36% in 2019.
