Potash markets rocked by India contract announcement

Global potash markets were rocked by the unexpected announcement that a new India contract price of $280/t CFR was agreed at the beginning of this week, cancelling out the prior price of $247/t CFR which had only just been agreed at the end of January. This week was relatively devoid of fresh activity as participants digested the news, and spot prices across the key benchmarks were largely stable as a result.
