The recent surge in second-quarter phosphoric acid prices by $203/t has supported high DAP import demand from India for the upcoming kharif season while summer-fill interest has led to a rise in US NOLA DAP barge prices this week. The phosacid agreement, and its subsequent impact on domestic DAP production, was enough to bring about a surge of import buying in India of roughly 650,000 t DAP in the last two weeks. The latest deals from China, Saudi Arabia and Morocco were at $560-565/t CFR before credit, up $3-4/t.
