India increased taxes on crude palm oil

India has increased taxes on crude palm oil (CPO) imports in an attempt to boost domestic agricultural producers, the Star reported 2 February. The basic import tax on CPO was cut by India to 15% from 27.5%, but an additional “cess” tax of 17.5% was announced on the product by the finance minister.
