China: Port wholesale MOP prices jump nearly $20/t

Chinese port wholesale MOP prices have jumped by an average of RMB 125 ($19)/t over the last week as importers and distributors rapidly raise offers following the start of spring application. Buyers are reportedly accepting the price rises because they need to re-stock. After domestic producer QSL raised its offers last week, one of China’s largest importers increased port wholesale offers on 8 March to RMB2,250 ($346)/t FCA for red standard MOP and to RMB2,350 ($361)/t FCA for white 62% K2O product. The company’s new offer for granular MOP is RMB2,330/t FCA.
