Q2 increase guaranteed but scale uncertain

Price negotiations for supply of liquid sulphur in northwest Europe in the second quarter of 2021 were not yet underway, but sources agreed that an increase from Q1 was guaranteed due to tight availability and global sulphur price spikes. Contract prices Q1 2021 were fully settled at increases ranging from $15/t to $20/t from Q4 2020. The price range for Q1 was assessed at $113-127/t CFR Benelux for liquid bulk barge/railcar volumes, up from $97-112/t for Q4 2020. The range for truckloads was similarly increased to $130-156/t CPT NW Europe. This leaves the contract prices at their highest levels since Q3 2019.
