Hoegh LNG buys stake in green H2 firm to develop H2 ships, grid injection

Hoegh LNG has acquired a stake in Norwegian hydrogen company Gen2 Energy with a view to teaming up with the startup to develop the green hydrogen value chain. Hoegh LNG's venture into hydrogen comes after majority shareholder Leif Hoegh teamed up with Morgan Stanley to buy out Hoegh LNG in March, with the move to gain a foothold in the hydrogen sector in line with the US bank's push to reach net zero emissions across its portfolio by 2050.
