Bermuda-headquartered LNG infrastructure company Golar LNG is in talks with an “existing client” to push ahead with plans to build a giant 5 mtpa floating LNG (FLNG) facility, after first pitching the idea in 2019. In its Q2 ‘21 quarterly results statement, Golar said it is in “commercial and technical discussions” with the client to potentially build and deploy the FLNG vessel, named the Golar Mark III, with a view to using the facility to monetise the client’s natural gas resources and supply them as LNG.
