Ecopetrol enters the race for ISA stake in bid to position for the energy transition

Colombia's state-controlled oil and gas player Ecopetrol has become the latest company to express an interest in compatriot state-controlled electricity transmission operator Isa, after tabling a non-binding offer for a 51.4% stake in Isa. Ecopetrol said the acquisition would be an important step in its energy transition and decarbonisation plans as the deal would strengthen its position in the area of renewables and electrification.
