NextDecade scraps plans for Galveston Bay LNG, deems site not viable

NextDecade has abandoned plans for its proposed Galveston Bay LNG plant after deciding that the project site in Texas City was not suitable for development. The decision comes three years after NextDecade entered a pre-filing review with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the proposed 16.5 mtpa plant, which NextDecade receive permission from the US Department of Energy to export LNG from.
