Arctic LNG 2 partners eye external financing after concluding 20-year SPAs

Novatek, the operator of the Arctic LNG 2 project, announced on Wednesday that the project partners have concluded 20-year sales and purchase agreements (SPA) for the entire production volumes from the 19.8 mtpa capacity plant, which is expected to start LNG exports in 2023. The conclusion of the long-term SPAs “de-risks” the project and will help attract external financing – which is expected to be completed in 2021, according to the Russian firm.
