Coal: Russian coal exports up 11pc in 1Q

Strong Asia-Pacific demand drove Russian coal exports up by 10.6pc on the year in the first quarter. The country’s seaborne coal exports totalled 45.4mn t in January-March, up by 4.3mn t on the year and 1.3mn t from the first quarter of 2019. These data include thermal coal and coking coal exports but also metallurgical coke and petroleum coke.
