Russian April runs outpaced pre-Covid levels

Russian refinery activity continued to trend higher than pre- Covid levels in April despite easing marginally on the month, according to the latest data from CDU TEK - a branch of FGBU 'REA', Russian Energy Ministry. Total crude throughputs at Russian refineries were 5.65mn b/d last month, a drop of 0.4pc on March, but they were 6pc higher than in April 2020 when the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic deepened. Relatively high April throughputs resulted in a year-to-date throughput figure just 3.81pc below 2020, compared with 6.79pc in March.
