Citgo cuts capex by 19pc after turnaround delay

Refner Citgo will cut capital spending by 19pc this year compared to previous plans after pushing back a scheduled turnaround at its 157,500 b/d Corpus Christi refnery in Texas. Citgo did not provide a reason for moving a planned turn- around at Corpus Christi from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the frst quarter of next year. A fuid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit and a sulphur recovery unit (SRU) at the refnery were upset in May and July, respectively, from heavy rain. Those measures followed a complete, two-week shutdown in the frst quarter amid a winter freeze in Texas.
