Russian aluminium producer Rusal posted a sharp rise in earn- ings for the frst six months of this year as markets recovered from Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in 2020. Rusal’s adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation increased sixfold to $1.31bn in the frst six months of this year, on revenues that rose by 36pc to $5.45bn. The company posted a proft of $2.02bn over the January-June period, from a loss of $124mn a year earlier.
