Aramco Unlikely to Sell More Shares in Near Term

Saudi Arabia is unlikely to sell additional shares in Saudi Aramco this year because the outlook for oil prices remains uncertain as the Covid-19 pandemic drags on, sources familiar with the matter tell Energy Intelligence. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said last week that the kingdom may sell more of Aramco’s shares to investors to raise funds for investments that would benefit Saudi citizens (IOD Jan.28’21). Prince Mohammed is the main architect of the Vision 2030 strategy to strengthen the Saudi economy and reduce its dependence on oil.
