Papua LNG to Proceed Separately From PNG LNG

The government of Papua New Guinea has said Total will now proceed separately with the proposed Papua LNG project, rather than simultaneously with a planned expansion of Exxon Mobil’s already operational PNG LNG plant. The government made the announcement after signing a fiscal stability agreement with Total-a significant step paving the way for the Papua LNG project to move forward. It’s unclear whether Exxon Mobil will go ahead with the construction of a third liquefaction train at PNG LNG anytime soon.
